Second Grade March Math Centers

We’re almost into the final stretch of the school year!  March, April, May and part of June!  It seems so close and yet so far away at the same time!

March Mayhem

Does life seem out of control?!?  One of the things that has made it so much easier  this year is pulling last year’s resources. This past week, I pulled out my March math stations and just stuck them in our math station boxes.  It literally took minutes to change out my math stations because I had prepped everything the year before.  No lamination, no cutting, and only minimal copying.

This is not the best photo because of the glare, but you get the idea of how I store my math stations.  Each math station is stored in a baggie with extra copies of the recording sheet.  Smaller pieces are in a smaller baggie inside the larger bag.

March Math StationsMost of my math stations this month come from my St. Patrick’s Day Math Centers, but I’m also pulling from my St. Patrick’s Day Money Matching.  We’ll use the Solve the Room later in the month as a one or two-day activity.

March Centers 2Having ready-made stations keeps my prep work down and the mayhem at a minimum in the last few months of the school year.  We have established routines for math stations, so it’s just a matter of keeping the routine with a little bit new content every month. I’ve got similar systems set up for April and May, which will make those months so much less stressful.
