How to Use the Thankful Flapbook in the Classroom

One of my favorite ways to use this activity is during a single week in November.

Here’s a simple, teacher-friendly schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: Students complete one flap per day (Things, Places, People, Events).
  • Friday: Students use their completed flaps to write a full paragraph explaining why they are thankful.

This structure:

  • Breaks writing into manageable chunks
  • Builds sentence stamina
  • Supports summarizing and paragraph writing
  • Works perfectly for 2nd and 3rd grade expectations

It also fits easily into writing block, morning work, or Thanksgiving-themed lessons.

What’s Included in the Thankful Craftivity Flapbook Printable

The Thankful Flapbook includes multiple page options so you can easily differentiate and customize for your classroom:

  • Writing and drawing pages
  • Versions with and without color
  • Pages with and without graphics

You can mix and match pages based on your students’ needs, available time, or printing preferences.
