I start to teach biographies in January. Reading and writing about MLK day is how I introduce students to learning about famous people. We read books about Martin Luther King Jr., watch videos about what he did, and create a timeline of major events. Here are a few of the MLK Day Activities we do.

Martin Luther King Jr. Biography & Classroom Activities
Today, I want to share my Martin Luther King Jr. Biography and Reading Comprehension resource. With this biography resource, you can guide your students through an exploration of MLK’s life, achievements, and values.
This resource combines reading passages, comprehension activities, and writing tasks to help students deepen their understanding while developing critical literacy skills.
I created this resource for scaffolded instruction with my second graders. It’s appropriate for grades 2-4.
