This self-reflection The Real Me Halloween Craftivity gets students thinking about what they like about themselves. Students choose a costume cover and then tell about why the “real me” is even better than the costume.

This The Real Me Halloween Craftivity is a great activity for the month of October. It is a fun getting to know you craftivity that allows students to dig deeper and reflect what makes them unique.
Included in this Halloween Craftivity
There are two options included in this Halloween Craftivity.
- A flap book with drawing and writing room that requires assembly
- A two-page option for easy copying
There are 47 different costumes to choose from with both options.
In this Halloween Craftivity students write and draw about themselves. The topics go a bit deeper than the traditional beginning of the year activities and touch on what makes students afraid, feel safe, and who helps them be who they are.
Topics for reflection include
- I really like . . .
- I feel scared when . . .
- The people who help me to be who I am . . .
- My favorite thing about myself . . .
- I wish people knew . . .
- I don’t like it when . . .
- I feel safe when . . .
- I want people to know the real me because . . .

Here are some details about each version:
Two-Page Folded Version
The Real Me Halloween Craftivity two-page folded version is shorter and easier to copy. It does not include drawing space, but it does have writing space for all of the reflection pieces.
Here is a sample of some of the costumes students can choose.

Copy the pages back-to-back. Students cut out the top right corner to reveal the inside “the real me is even better” text.
This image shows the topics and spaces for students to write responses.

The two-page flap book is perfect for when you need a quick project and are short on time.
Halloween Craftivity Flap Book Version
The Real Me Halloween Craftivity flap book version is longer and requires a bit more copying. It comes in two versions: lines only or lines with drawing space. Some of the pages overlap and nest together.

Students can write and draw a picture for each sentence stem.

There are a boy and girl costume images for many costumes. Costumes also have background images, like trick-or-treat bags, fences, moons, and more!

Also available is a Halloween Treat Bag Craftivity, where students can focus on acts of kindness and how to “treat” other people.
