CVC Cut & Paste Worksheets & Phonics Cards
I do not enjoy using too many worksheets in my classroom. I believe that students should be interacting with the content and each other. Whenever I create a worksheet for students to use, I try to extend it in some way that provides an increased value for students.

These CVC Cut and Paste Worksheets and Phonics Cards are interactive worksheets with a flash card in disguise. They can also be used with an interactive notebook or sent home for students to practice reading CVC words at home. The possibilities are endless. They were created to be fun and engaging and to live much longer than a normal worksheet.
What is Included
There are two versions of the CVC worksheets. One version has only the picture and word boxes. This is a great version for students who do not need help with blending. All they need to do is cut the letters and glue them in place.
All the worksheets are grouped by word family so students are practicing similar word patterns. Since there are 9 pieces on each page, this also makes it easier for students to differentiate between the letters.

If students do need help blending and you are wanting to make some blending cards, then have students complete the version with the blending cues. The blending cue version has guides for the hole punch on both the bottom and the top. The top hole punch is more intuitive, but the bottom one allows the cards to be made into flash cards.

Use as Practice or Flash Cards
One of the things that I love about this set of worksheets is that I can transform them into flash cards. After students have completed the worksheet, I cut out the cards, whole punch and place them on a ring.
If you hole punch at the bottom, the card can also become a flash card. Simply fold over the picture above the letters. Have students segment, blend and read the word. They can then turn over the picture to check their reading.

This is a great tool for parents or classroom volunteers. If each of your students has their own personalized set of words in their book box, the student can sit with an adult to read their words daily or weekly.
How to Purchase
You can purchase the CVC Cut and Paste Phonics Cards on Teachers Pay Teachers.
Watch a Video
Here is a video of my kindergartener completing some of the worksheets and compiling the flash cards.
I noticed after creating the video that my four-year-old was picking his nose in the background, so you’ll have to excuse the kid antics. As a kindergarten teacher, I’m sure you can relate!
Related Products
I have a couple other products that are similar to these CVC Cut & Paste Worksheets and Phonics Cards including Phoneme Blending and Segmenting Cards that do not include words and Blending Cards that do not include pictures.
If your students are ready to start reading the words within short stories, I also have Phonics Passages that are heavily controlled for word family and sight words.
