Halloween Animals Article – Overview of All the Animals
This Halloween Animals Article is an overview of many animals associated with Halloween. It is slightly different from the rest of the animal articles.
This article is focused on Halloween. It is two pages long and highlights details about each animal. It is an overview of the animals and does not go in-depth about their attributes.
Included in the resource are several ways students can demonstrate their understanding. It includes a sort, Venn diagrams where students can compare several animals and much more!
The following animal articles, while bundled with the Halloween article, can also stand alone as unique animal resources. They are not specific to Halloween and go more in-depth about the specific animals.
Article All About Spiders
The Spiders animal article focuses on attributes, diet, offspring, and predators of spiders.
The article comes in two formats, a one-page text format, and a two-page article with colored photographs.
Also included are website resources. The websites and videos have QR Codes available as well a Google Site that has all the links in one place.
All of the animal articles come with the same basic components for comprehension. What you see above are comprehension questions, one of the note-taking sheets, and the cloze reading sheet. Also included is a fact sort sheet, an alternate note-taking sheet, and more.
Article & Activities about Bats
The bats article follows a similar format as the spiders article. Here are the article, QR codes, and some of the vocabulary cards.
Bats are interesting animals that get a bad rap. Did you know that they help control the insect population and pollenate flowers? Students will learn about these details and much more!
Raven Article & Activities
Here is an example of the article on ravens. Ravens are a very intelligent bird that even have a famous poem written about them! Students may enjoy reading this poem by Edgar Allen Poe or listening to it on Halloween.
The Raven comprehension activities follow the same format as the other animals. If you get the BUNDLE, students can break into groups and study about each of the animals. Students can do a jigsaw activity to share their learning with each other.
Owl Article & Activities
Here is the owl article, qr codes, and vocabulary cards. Owls are fun animals to study about. There are so many fun facts students can learn about owls. After reading the nonfiction article, consider having students read some fictional texts about owls, like Owl Moon or Owl Babies (affiliate link).
The owl comprehension activities are similar to the others and include a cloze read, several note-taking sheets, and reading comprehension activities.
