Help students practice gratitude throughout November with this meaningful Thankful Tree Craftivity. This activity gives each student the chance to create an individual thankful tree that becomes a special family keepsake for the Thanksgiving season.

Each day during the month of November, students write one or two things they are thankful for. They add one idea per leaf and glue the leaf to their tree. Before Thanksgiving break, students can take their completed thankful trees home to share with their families.

How to Use the Thankful Tree

Then, each day in November, students write one or two things they are thankful for on individual leaves. Students glue one thankful idea per leaf onto their tree.

At the end of the month, send the completed trees home before the Thanksgiving holiday so families can enjoy them together.

Classroom Display Option

You can also turn this activity into a whole-class gratitude display. Create a large tree cutout for a bulletin board and have students add construction paper leaves with thankful ideas throughout the month.
