Part-Part-Whole Dot Flash Cards that show students a visual representation of various dot arrangements for sums 2-10 and 11-20 help students “see” numbers in new ways.
These Part-Part-Whole Dot Flash Cards show students a visual representation of various dot arrangements for sums 2-10 or 12-20. There are several dot arrangements for the same set of addends. One set mirrors a ten frame arrangement, the other sets assist with subitizing. The dot images could also be used individually (without the other part and whole) for dot talks and practice with subitizing.
These were created full-page. Either print full-page or print half page. Individual or take home cards can be printed four to a page, as well. I have even printed them 16 to a page to have a variety of dot arrangements for a math center.
Cut on the dotted line to fold back either addend or fold back the sum. Note, not all dotted lines are in the same place; do not print back to back nor cut multiple sheets at the same time. Alternatively, hold your hand over the number or dot image you want to cover up.
A Part-Part-Whole Dot Flash Cards bundled version of both products is also available.

This is a fun way to help students build number sense routines. The flashcards are not the same size when I cut them out, which makes it a little more difficult to store.

Love this resource for differentiating this lesson. My students found it very engaging during small group center time or small group with the teacher.
Thank you
