I used this article as a resource when researching and writing about life cycles and metamorphosis. We read the article, look at a variety of web sites, and watch a couple videos to gather all our facts about the animal. Once we have the facts, we sort the facts into categories and then write our research report.
This articles is written at about a second / third grade reading level and are controlled for sentence length and complexity.

Used this as a resource that I adapted to fit the needs of the small group I worked with. Has a lot of extra activities for students to interact with the text which I didn't use.

My students enjoyed learning about praying mantises. We had live ones hatch from the little pod - about 100 of them.
